Anglický zpěvák, vl. jm. David Batt (nar. 1958). Do r. 1985 člen sk. Japan. Ještě před jejich rozpadem zpíval i ve sk. Yellow Magic Orchestra, kterou vedl Ryuichi Sakamoto. Měli několik úspěšných nahrávek, např. Forbidden Colours z filmu Davida Bowieho Mery Christmas Mr. Lawrence. V r. 1987 napsal baletovou svitu Kin. Album (1) bylo v Anglii velmi úspěšné, což už neplatí o těch dalších. V r. 1990 se opět spojuje s bývalými členy Japan pod názvem Rain Tree Crow. Výsledkem další spolupráce se Sakamotem je v r. 1992 hit "Heartbeat (Tainai Kaiki II)". Věnuje se i fotografii. V r. 2003 odstartoval vlastní label Samadhi Sounds vydáním nové desky po čtyřleté pauze.
